Rob wants to wear shorts. That is totally his choice. He never wears pants unless he has to. I don't feel that I have any right to make him uncomfortable. So, if the man wants to wear shorts. Let him.
He also wants to order custom made Chuck Taylor's. Another decision I am perfectly fine with that. We are just stuck on color. He wants dark blue (his favorite color) and I want gray (the wedding color). I think we may come to an agreement that he can have blue shoes as long as his groomsmen get gray. If we do that, I'll wear blue shoes too, and have my bridesmaids wear yellow.
